The Right Start

The Right Start

I had a very interesting experience the other day at a meeting with somebody who had done some design work for us. When I first met Aileen, she was pregnant with her third child, Oscar, who is now 17 months old. Oscar was along and we were talking about Aileen’s work on her own food ‘revolution’. So, here’s a little fella who doesn’t have any junk food, and it’s very interesting to watch. He is a lovely, easy-going, contented child who can sit beside us and amuse himself for two hours while we are having serious discussions. He also, very happily ate fish with black rice and spinach and drank water. I’m convinced that his diet has a huge bearing on his disposition.
Interestingly, Oscar’s older siblings aged 9 and 14 are “converted”. Understandably, Aileen is now evangelical about children eating properly. Very practically, as a self-employed mum with 3 children, of course she knows that practical is paramount, she has started to share recipes, ideas and tips and hints for starting a baby off with great eating habits www.babyledfeeding.com . Briefly glimpsing her family, she certainly has credibility.
So, we are looking forward to some very interesting collaboration and, hopefully, can do our tiny bit to be a useful part of the solution to our childhood obesity epidemic. Over the next several weeks we will adapt our Children’s Menu, have some facetime with families who want to change over and we’ve a great competition idea……
